贅字記錄員（ah counter）

　　贅字記錄員的責任是記錄會議中發言者在思考時拖延時間所發出的不必要字或音，例如“這個、那個、但是、所以、也就是說”等就是贅字；一些沒有意義的感嘆詞，像“啊、嗯、喔”等就是贅音。有些人經常重覆某些字詞，如“我…，我…”、“意思是…”，也記下來。

會議前

準備一份贅字記錄員的任務簡短說明以便讓來賓瞭解。

到達會場時

準備紙筆以便記錄。

會議中

1.在即席問答前被介紹上台時，說明贅字記錄員的任務。有些演講會對使用贅字的人或忘了戴會徽的人處以罰金，應先將罰金規則講清楚。

2.在會議進行中，全程注意傾聽演講者發出的贅字贅音，把每一個人的贅字贅音及不必要的長時間停頓都記下來。

3.在講評時間應邀報告時，就在原位站起來報告。

會議後

如果貴會設有罰金制度，就應向財務長提出完整的報告，以便由其收取罰金。

Toastmaster of the Evening, Dear Fellow Members & Most Welcome Guests：

I'm pleased to be the Ah-Counter of tonight's meeting. My job is help you cure your bad habit of making“vocalized pauses”, They are sounds like“ah”、“er” and “em”、or words like “well”、“and”、“but”、“so”and“you know”...etc. These unnecessary annoying sounds and words are the so- called “Ahs”.

I'll count the number of the “Ahs” I hear you make.  At the end of the meeting, I will make a report for you. If you are a member, you will be fined NT$5 for each of your “Ahs” that I hear. The maximum fine is NT$20.
