Having Fun in London Ladies & Gentlemen, good afternoon,
London is a city which¡¦s 24/7 on. The buses there are 24 hours moving around. The energetic city was just good enough to make me completely exhausted and let me hit the sack in no time.
This summer, I went to London for short studying. My home-stay, a beautiful garden house, was comfortable, healthy and good for my study. The environment was quite and pleasant. However, living in a family, it¡¦s better to be aware of manners and attitude, since they simply represent the country¡¦s habit. Once, my classmate, a Germany asked me to write a note in Chinese. That¡¦s for telling 2 Taiwanese girls about their improper behaviors in a family. Anyway, what¡¦s disadvantage of living in home-stay? It¡¦s too far. Usually, home-stay houses locate far from the center of city. I spent almost 1 hour to downtown by underground. In summer time, even worse, it¡¦s awful stifling and terribly crowded on the tube, no air-condition at all. On the other hand, living in a flat is close to downtown and good for footloose but noisy instead. Footloose means feeling free and no limit. May have party every night!!! When I was in Britain, I found the living was costly. How much is this water in Taiwan? 16NT$; in London it¡¦s 60NT$. The Sandwich? I just bought it 30; London, around 200. How about a pack of cigarettes? Getting expensive here, 60, there, 300. espite so, there are some free things in London. Museum is one of them, London has over 90 galleries. Many of them are free of entrance. The British Museum, a must-see in London, gathers lots and lots of treasures from different cultures, which are considered as the most precious heritages in the world. In general, no one would miss Egypt¡¦s mummies there. Gee, they still have hair and nails on the bodies, amazing!!! Look at cat mummies as well. As for which museum or gallery you are interested in, they would open your eyesight, inspire your soul, and enrich your brain altogether. In addition, Metro Newspaper in London is free too. Students could get daily news to practice English with people, because reading newspaper is so common, no matter tourists or Londoners. For me, the best time of reading was on the tube; the best place was at parks. Living in a big city, park is a place to get rid of tension and make a good mood. London has many parks, small, big, or magnificent. At then, every morning, on my way to school, I went into a small park and sat on a bench with coffee, gathering my gut to attend school. In fact, the British accent made me nervous, because I was uneasy about misunderstanding.Every now and then, in social programs, teachers led us into the magnificent parks such as Hyde Park, Regent Park, playing football, having a picnic, lying down on the green grass talking and laughing. Besides museums and newspaper, another free thing was always amazingly melting my heart. That is to enjoy outdoor concerts, or to listen to music in the breeze. They were just fantastic. You might slow your step at any corners of streets embracing romantic atmosphere. Feeling what you feel inside.
Dear members, London liberated my spirit; empowered my desire of life. Liberate means to be free and happy, empower means making me good and strong. Where do you want to explore? No matter in Taiwan or abroad, travel is the spice of our life. Traveling economically and be open-minded make me an unforgettable memory. Toastmaster. ¡@ |
